The history of Winkhaus

The 1950s

The company's 100th anniversary comes at the right time - thanks to the conversion of production and the general upswing during this period, the company continues to grow and shares in the building boom which accompanies the rebuilding of the country. Winkhaus soon has a workforce of more than 1000. The company expands its product range systematically and establishes a network of representatives throughout the Federal Republic of Germany.

The youngest son of August Winkhaus, Wolfgang, starts his career in the family business. Just a year later, his father, the founder of the factory at Telgte, dies at the age of 60. In memory of the late freeman of the town, the authorities in Telgte Kirchspiel rename the road which has been home to the Winkhaus factory for 20 years August-Winkhaus-Straße.
