In May 2012 Atletico Madrid won the Euroleague finale with a 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the new National Stadium in Bucharest. An electronic blueChip locking system secured the new structure. The speed of the installation of the system was as impressive as the athletic endeavours on the playing field. The 588 door cylinders were installed in just three weeks.
The appearance football-only arena is based on Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt. It was built for international football events and seats 55,000 spectators. Extending over six levels, the complex also has an underground garage, conference rooms and restaurants. The transparent roof can be completely closed.
Only six weeks passed from the initial visit of the construction site to the final installation of the system. Winkhaus finished the entire locking system in Münster in a record time of three weeks. The installers at partner company UTI in Bucharest completely their work equally fast. Winkhaus Austria managed the project and handled everything from software setup to training.
In addition to tens of thousands of spectators passing through the entries for sporting events, around 50 employees enter and exit the new structure. They are equipped with blueChip electronic keys. The control of the entire electronic locking system takes place at a central computer with the support of blueIntras Control software from Winkhaus.
