Winkhaus founded its first international subsidiary on 17 July 1969. After 115 years of company tradition, this represented an active step into the world of export and a clear commitment to the Austrian market. What began as a sales centre was expanded at the start of the 1980s into a manufacturing plant for locking cylinders and systems. Assembly manufacturing for concealed window fittings was added soon after. With the start of the new millennium, the production structures in the main plants, which had grown by that time, were disbanded and the expansion of the company to an international sales centre was driven forward. From the company headquarters in Grödig, around 65 employees and commercial agents now cover 15 national markets in south and south east Europe in addition to Austria. As the headquarters of one of the four international market representative areas in the group, Winkhaus Austria is better established than ever in its markets. To guarantee continued success, new offices were added in the anniversary year and additional employees recruited.
The special anniversary was celebrated at the end of June with numerous employees from all international Winkhaus sites and plants. As on other occasions, the company rose to its social responsibility once again and took the opportunity to support a number of charitable causes.
