The two automatic sealing elements have a decisive function. They significantly improve the weather performance and ensure that the door sits firmly in the frame when closed. This reduces draughts and energy losses while increasing living ambiance. In addition, noise-dampening plastic components support pleasant closing performance. The door is automatically held in place, which ensures reliable operation when it is not locked.
Tighter gasket seal when the door is pulled shut
In addition, two key-operated security hooks made of solid, chromated steel form the core of the system. Upon locking, they firmly engage within the keep rail and secure the door sash in the frame with a high tensile force. Their special shape makes it difficult to pull the door sash and frame apart, which increases burglar resistance. When locked, the hooks are also reliably secured against being pushed back. The chamfer on both sides also ensures a particularly high tightening force.
“During development, the central focus was on ensuring a tight gasket seal even when the doors are unlocked,” says Michael Amm, Project Manager for Door Locking Systems at Winkhaus. “This approach leads to a significant enhancement in energy efficiency and user comfort, without requiring active user intervention. At the same time, we maintain full mechanical security when locking.”
