Winkhaus expands electronic locking system with furniture locks for lockers and compartments for valuables

Flexible solutions for changing rooms and modern working environments

With the BE 80 furniture lock, Winkhaus is expanding its blueEvo electronic locking system portfolio with a versatile solution for lockers and compartments for valuables. The system is available in two variants and is suitable for a variety of applications – from changing rooms in hospitals and care facilities to leisure and sports facilities to modern office and open-space concepts.

The electronic furniture locks enable both fixed cabinet assignment and free cabinet selection. This allows individual usage concepts to be implemented, such as for employee lockers with permanent access or for changing users who choose a free locker when necessary. The furniture locks are conveniently operated with an identification medium such as a card or an electronic key.

Flexible usage concepts for sensitive areas
Automatic release plays an especially important role in hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities with shift work. Thanks to the optional auto-opening function, lockers are released again after a defined time. An occupancy indicator helps users find free lockers quickly.

In addition to changing rooms, the furniture locks are also suitable for safely storing valuables, files or medicines. This aspect is becoming increasingly important in open-plan offices to keep sensitive documents safe and compliant with current security requirements such as NIS 2.

Die neuen blueEvo Möbelschlösser eignen sich für Spinde und Wertfächer

BE 80 furniture locks are currently available in two versions that are specifically tailored to different application scenarios:

• BE 80 M41 – with rigid deadbolt: allows free choice of cabinets, typically used in swimming pools or gyms. The user selects an available locker, locks it with the identification medium and receives visual feedback via the integrated occupancy indicator.

• BE 80 M42 – with spring-loaded deadbolt: for fixed cabinet assignments, such as for permanently assigned employee lockers. The spring-loaded deadbolt can only be opened with the assigned identification medium.

Both variants have a separate reader unit, making them splash-proof – a big advantage, especially in humid environments such as changing rooms or sanitary facilities. Existing locks can also be easily replaced.

Addition of new touch terminal
The range of functions is expanded even further in combination with the new TT35 touch terminal. The terminal is connected to an upload reader and displays the assigned locker number to the user after holding the identification medium. This makes it easier to find your way around, especially in large changing rooms.

“Our main focus when developing the furniture lock was on suitability for everyday use. Operators gain a system that can be easily integrated into existing structures, supports different usage scenarios and at the same time significantly reduces administrative effort,” explains Klaus Wördemann, Product Manager Access Control at Winkhaus.
