Debut at the Light + Building 2024

Winkhaus presents the evolution of a tradition: blueEvo.

For the first time, Winkhaus is exhibiting at Light + Building in Frankfurt. And with the product innovation blueEvo, the new generation of electronic access control. From 3 to 8 March, visitors to Stand A70 in Hall 9.0 will be able to experience this innovative technology for themselves.

The electronic access control from Winkhaus revolutionised the world of locking technology decades ago and has enjoyed great popularity ever since. The new blueEvo locking system continues this success story.

Holistic security architecture
"For the new blueEvo system platform, we have worked with proven experts in the fields of cyber-physical systems and security management to develop a security architecture that ensures the protection of confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of system and authorisation data throughout - from the management software to the door components," reports Dr. Volker Brink, Head of Product Management Access Control at Winkhaus.

"With this architecture, we offer a level of security that goes beyond the underlying security mechanisms of the system, such as the use of NXP MIFARE DESFire EV3 technology and the use of Secure Elements NXP MIFARE SAM AV3. Thanks to these measures, Winkhaus offers a very high level of protection against hacker attacks with blueEvo," he continues.

Key loss is also no problem, as keys can be blocked immediately with just a few clicks of the mouse, and the blocking information takes effect immediately when using Virtual Network Hubs, without the need for manual programming on the individual door components. In addition, the locking system is extremely flexible, as changes to access authorisations are quickly reflected in the virtual network, even in large locking systems. This further increases security against unauthorised access to unwanted areas.

Versatile applications
The new user-friendly blueEvo management software is operating system independent and is typically installed on-site on a local PC or on a dedicated or virtualised server. The software architecture is designed to separate the back-end from the front-end, allowing very flexible API-based connectivity to customised third-party systems. In the simplest case, this can be used for the automated transfer of HR master data. For more complex integrations, interfaces to building management systems and intrusion detection systems are available. The new blueEvo identification media offer additional application options such as the control of charging stations for electric vehicles, time recording solutions, integration into existing access control systems or the connection of office printers.

Intuitive operation
The browser-based, responsive user interface of the BE blueControl management software sets new standards. Winkhaus focused on making it easy to use, even for inexperienced users who rarely change access authorisations. To this end, a new type of authorisation matrix was developed in collaboration with usability designers. In addition, a power search function, which is completely new in the field of access control, enables the user to jump directly to the corresponding function field of the application by entering information such as the ID media number, the name of the key holder or the name of a door.

Flexible and efficient
The range of low-maintenance components available for launch is already very extensive. The technology is highly efficient thanks to the use of virtual network hubs. These are readers with an optional access function connected to the management software via a network. They are usually installed at central access doors and write the current authorisation information to the stored identification medium in the background. At the same time, they transmit locking events, commands, and information such as battery warnings to the virtual network. In addition to calendar functions, Virtual Network Hubs also allow simultaneous operation with authorisation intervals, so that, for example, identification media must be synchronised daily to ensure even greater security of the locking system. The component range offers solutions for an enormous range of applications, primarily in the security-critical areas of government and administration, healthcare, industry, and offices - regardless of the size and complexity of the project.

The new generation of blueEvo electronic access control with flush-mounted cylinders, electronic door furniture, various readers, and identification media as well as the new, user-friendly BE blueControl software in three tailor-made packages for different applications leaves almost nothing to be desired. Winkhaus blueEvo provides intelligent access control in complex building structures and can also support cost-effective operation.

A visit to the stand in Frankfurt is therefore well worthwhile.
